Can't believe how fast the time goes! Well as you may have noticed I don't update my blog every day or even at the end of a week, at this point a month might even be often! The important thing is I'm still kicking and life still keeps me going. Whats new?

Time has been flying by and I can definitely tell from my blog entries! My Twitter posts are always current with my uncontrollable raves and rants... It hard keeping my views to myself and watching the politicians spend our taxpayer monies gives me a lot to rant about. Without freedom and capitalism we wouldn't have business, so don't take it personal if I rant about big government. We need business to make money!

Additional fees with Credit Card reform?

Wow how the time passes!! Hopefully you have been following my updates on Twitter as I'm more of a 140 character person than a blogger..

It has been a busy spring starting with the flooding and then all the cool spring like weather. Finally I can tell summer is here as the gas prices have been going up and that is a sure sign of SUMMER, as for me riding a Harley sure does make a difference when it's time to fill the gas tank. Having fun and saving fuel, what a concept!


The biggest news in the financial world this past month was the Credit Card reform that the Senate passed. I have mixed emotions about this reform and I feel it will eventually hurt the average consumer with additional fees.


So here is my buyers beware...

The Credit Card Companies want to make money, when they lose the ability to generate income they always find other alternatives for the shortfall. This is business but it is unfortunate our government has to create laws to govern the industry. I do feel if government wants to help, start educating the public about using credit and the cost of having debt.


My advice is watch your monthly statements, read any updated customer agreement. If you don't like the terms don't do the deal. Work on keeping that credit score in the best shape, this alone is a major cost savings. The fallout from the current credit crunch will be costly for anyone that has damaged their credit.

Don't forget FDI has some great services that helps restore those credit scores back to the best possible shape! Bad credit is big business and at your expense, become proactive and fight back..

Participant or Bystander?

Yes, I agree that things aren't so rosie for many people in today's economy, but did they become a victim or did they participate? At this point it really doesn't matter, the damage is done for many, the best defense now is the ability to identify and understand.

The Truth.. Most problems could have been avoided by acting on one simple phrase "live on less than you make". I too get envious when I see people drive their new cars or hear them talk about their vacations and buying the latest and greatest electronic items! Who wouldn't want all this stuff.. Never focus on what you don't have, instead be grateful for what you do have.

I can't speak for everyone but some of these individuals are living paycheck to paycheck, some are even going into foreclosure on their homes. Sadly enough a few people have made the statement "they deserve it"! We all deserve the best and the best will come when we are good stewards of our finances. All the stories are the same with the outcome being the same too. The feelings these people are encountering are unhappiness, stress and hopelessness, all wondering how they will make it through these economically bad times. Was it worth it?

I'm in favor of nice homes, cars, motorcycles, vacations and the latest electronic items that make my live more enjoyable. I also have multiple source or income or MSI's in place to help fund my enjoyments. Having a financial plan is always a good start, however I'm never in favor of buying on credit when it could sacrifice the the financial future of your family or your health. Did you know that money problems are the leading cause of divorce in the USA? This is the difference between participating or standing on the sidelines and watching.

Wouldn't the outcome be different if people had no debt except maybe a mortgage? If they had saved 3 to 6 months of income for emergency's, thing would be a lot different. I know this can be accomplished even on a average income. It's not how much you make that is important, its how much you keep that counts. Someone once told me that money wasn't everything, try to tell that to the bank. If you want more stuff, you need to be open on new ways to generate income!

Todays economy will come to pass, but I guarantee the same situation will come again in our future. My only question to you ... What will you do different to change your financial outcome?

I found this study to be very interesting....

Scenario: A group of monkeys were locked in a room with a pole in the center. Some luscious, ripe bananas were placed on the top of the pole. When a monkey would begin to climb the pole, the experimenters would knock him off with a blast of water from a fire hose. Each time a monkey would climb, off he would go, until all the monkeys had been knocked off repeatedly, thus learning that the climb was hopeless. The experimenters then observed that the other primates would pull down any monkey trying to climb. They replaced a single monkey with one who didn’t know the system. As soon as the new guy tried to climb, the others would pull him down and punish him for trying. One by one, each monkey was replaced and the scene repeated until there were no monkeys left in the room that had experienced the fire hose. Still, none of the new guys were allowed to climb. The other monkeys pulled them down. Not one monkey in the room knew why, but none were allowed to get the bananas. Story from The Total Money Makeover by Dave Ramsey Pg. 19-20

Just like monkeys, we too have been taught not to take unnecessary risks. Have you tried something new only to find out you had absolutely no support from your friends and family? Can you start to see the similarities between monkeys and the people that surround you?

The monkey’s actions are based on FEAR! What is fear, the acronym for fear is false evidence appearing real. We get most of our advice based on fear and not fact! The fact is most of the monkeys would have enjoyed a feast of bananas! Due to the failed efforts of a few, everyone was denied the attempt to enjoy success.

When you’re trying something new, remember the monkeys! Don’t take offence if you encounter resistance from the people you care about; they are only trying to protect you from the unknown. You’re more successful to try and fail than to not try at all. Now that your awareness has increased, this doesn’t give you the green light to jump at every opportunity that comes your way! Find the smartest monkeys to mastermind your ideas and don’t pass up the bananas without a fight.

Have you listened to Dave Ramsey?

Some of you may have listened to The Dave Ramsey show on the radio or satellite, Dave takes calls on the air from listeners that are looking for solutions to get out of debt. I have listened for a couple years and found that Dave gives some awesome advice on eliminating debt. When I first listened it was the same principals that we have been introducing through Equity Trax and Financial Destination Inc.

For the past few years I have heard caller after caller looking for guidance and advice on how to get out of debt, I sit back and scream at the radio knowing we have the answer! See, Dave believes that in order to get out of debt we should eat rice and beans and drive a $1000.00 car. He tells many to go deliver pizzas or work for UPS to make extra income. Again for some this could be an option. I believe that we just need to make more money and have a plan in place allowing us to become better money managers.

Why would someone that wants you to become debt free not teach you ways to leverage your time? Dave is making money by selling his books and seminars; he is a business owner and uses his employee’s to leverage his time and make more money. Why are some expected to work for an Employer to make their dreams come true?

I believe owning a traditional business isn’t for everyone, but in today’s world there are more business models available making it possible for anyone to start a business with little money.

So what are some advantages of having your own deal?

The biggest one is the ability to generate unlimited income, this one takes time and effort but so does your JOB! Set your own hours; be careful not to short yourself. You will still need to show up to make money, but you are working toward your future. Tax benefits, current tax codes are in the business owner favor, in business you pay all your business expenses first then pay tax on what’s left over, as a employee you pay the tax first, then you pay all your expenses!


If you need money short term then go out and deliver pizzas or work for UPS and pay down that debt. Remember this is only a bandage, the problem likely started because of the lack of income. If you want a secure future learn more about becoming a business owner. Look within your suburb or city, chances are the business owners go on more vacations, drive better cars and live in bigger homes. This is all the direct result of leverage and you can do the same.

Forum Post Inspires Mike's Next Rant.

Ok, so I came across this post about a week ago on the MS Forum, and it instantly struck a cord with me.

After you’ve been in this industry as long as I have, you start to get X-ray vision when it comes to reading people, and the answer to this person’s dilemma, was painted right there throughout her post.

I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it for days, so I finally decided to share my thoughts about it with you…

Here it is…

My husband and I joined ******* in April. So far it has been a frustrating experience. We followed the steps our sponsor suggested and have seen nothing for results. Some people ask for more information and we talk but then they disappear. It seems like they see the price and figure its a scam.

There is such a stigma around the internet that if you have to put in money upfront it's a scam. We can't seem to get people past the $3,000. I know there is an option for people to join for $100 to be an affiliate but then you pass up sales and people are like no way. I read on forums how much success people are having with their business and can't help but wonder what they are doing that we're not. We keep trucking and trying. Hopefully our efforts will pay off. So how many times have you heard other people say something just like this? How many times have you said something like this yourself?

I hear similar stories from people on a DAILY basis, and years ago, I could have written this post myself!

So let’s dissect this together, and I’ll share the insights I’ve gained through my experiences with you along the way.

Please understand that I’m not picking on the author in any way. In fact, I applaud her for seeking an answer, and have full confidence in her ability to find that answer and become a stronger leader for it.

This is about LEARNING, and GROWING. Who wrote the post above is irrelevant, because we’ve all been there, (myself included), but with that being said, I’m not going to sugar coat this…

My goal is to help you identify the psychology behind the words, so you can learn to identify your own weaknesses and address them.

There’s a lot going on here…

From the very beginning, “Sarah”, seeks out the sympathetic attention of others, and then tries to pin responsibility for her lack of success on something outside her self.

This is something you CANNOT allow yourself to do. You must take responsibility for your actions and your results.

Until you honestly and truly do, you’ll be an employee. Why? Because there’s no one to blame when you’re the boss, and until you’re comfortable with that fact, you’ll never be the boss.

It’s not your family’s fault, it’s not George Bush’s fault, it’s not because you were picked on as a child, it’s not your sponsor’s fault, and it’s not your marketing system’s fault.

Which brings my to my biggest pet-peeve in this industry... I can’t stand it when a leader hands someone an ingenious marketing system that WORKS for $50/Mo, and that would take them 5+ years and $250,000+ to create, and then they blame that leader when they don’t make any money.

These people are the whiners and complainers in this industry, and they’re the biggest p*****s on the planet.

It’s your fault.

Accept that and be at peace with it. Once you do, you’ll gain access to an entirely new reality where the successful entrepreneurs play.

Everything that happens in my life, for better or worse, IS MY FAULT. And I’m totally fine with that.

When “Sarah” can’t figure out why she’s not succeeding, her mind tries to find the most logical reason why, and in this case, it’s price.

That’s an excuse. Price doesn’t matter.

I learned this the heard way, because I thought, (just like Sarah), that it did… But at that time, my opportunity only cost $200 to get started!

Yet I was coming from a poverty mentality, and back then $200 was a lot of money in my world.

That was my reality, and I projected my reality onto everyone else. I assumed they would think $200 was a lot of money as well, and guess what… The people I attracted to myself DID!

If you think a $3,000 fee is too expensive and that people won’t pay it, or that they’ll call it a scam… THEY WILL TOO.

If you think $3,000 is a bargain, and that your opportunity is truly valuable, then THEY WILL TOO.

It has nothing to do with the actual price. It has to do with your reality and whether or not you’re really congruent with the opportunity you’re in.

I understand that you might be hurting financially right now, and that’s fine, but you need to get this…

If you feel poor, you’re going to project that reality and see the world through poor persons glasses, and everything you say or do will be affected by it.

Well I have news for you...

The world isn’t poor. You just see it that way.

There are millions of people out there who would have no problems investing $3,000 to start a business.

Hell, people normally spend $10,000 to $20,000 to join MY opportunity. And that’s intentional!

I decided a few years ago, that I wanted to be involved in a business that REQUIRED that kind of investment, because I only wanted to associate with people who were living in that kind of abundance and reality.

You are living in a mental world that you designed, and you constantly justify and support that world through the people you associate with, the books you read, the shows you watch, the actions you take, and the excuses you make.

People in this industry are looking for something OUTSIDE themselves to change their reality… They’re looking for a system, a product, and opportunity, a sponsor… ANYTHING and everything but themselves.

These are the losers that buy quality training courses and then send them back when they don’t get rich.

I’ve probably bought 100 MORE books and training courses than you have over the past 10 years, and I’ve never sent back a single one.

Why? Because I don’t expect them to bring me results on a silver platter. I expected them to allow me to create my own results through sacrifice and hard work.

If you want to change your results, you have to change your attitude.

You have to change the way you see yourself, your business, and the world around you.

People don’t see the internet as a scam, and the $3,000 price tag doesn’t matter to anyone but you.

Right now, you don’t live in a reality of abundance, and you aren’t truly congruent with the idea of being a leader just yet, because leaders don’t make excuses.

That’s FINE. NO ONE starts there. We all have to acquire those skills.

This is a matter of personal confidence. If you want to see the power of a changed reality in action… If you want proof that it’s possible… Then just watch any of those makeover shows on TV.

They take a person with zero confidence… A person with that doesn’t respect their body… A person that thinks the world hates them, and that they’re ugly… And within a day they completely transform their lives with a simple haircut and change of clothes.

They look into the mirror and they see someone completely different, someone confident, someone powerful, and instantly… A new reality for their life is created.

It is unbelievably powerful.

So here’s the deal… Leaders run into more problems than anyone else, but instead of placing blame, they look for solutions.

Instead of saying, “We followed the steps our sponsor suggested and have seen nothing for results”, they say…

“What can we do differently to get the results we want?” Where am I weak right now, and what can I do in order to strengthen that aspect of my life?”

Once you start asking yourself how you can move forward, find a solution to your problem, or reach your goal, your reality will change and you will get ideas that will allow you to do accomplish what you want.

If you’re frustrated with your life or your business right now for ANY reason at all, go walk up to a mirror and look closely, because the person you see is the only one that’s holding you back.
